Good advertising and promotion is what draws others in and it says a lot about your group and who you are. Don't underestimate the power of well organized information!

Use Canva for Templates

Keep It Simple

  • Utilize blank or white space
  • Find a cohesive color scheme - does it portray the vibe you're going for?
  • Consistency is key - keep the same theme & fonts throughout
  • Make sure it is easily readable from 2 feet & 10 feet away
  • Use your club logo if you have one!

What Should I Include
On A Poster?

  • What are you doing What's the point of the event?
  • When is it? (date, time, location)
  • Who is hosting the event?
  • Who is invited?

Where & When Should
A Poster Go Up?

  • Where your audience is going to see it
  • At least 2 different places
  • Only 1 poster per designated advertising area
  • TWO weeks before the event, in ResLife spaces maybe okay with one week
  • Enough time for people to not make other plans that day and not too long where they forget

Need Inspiration?

  • Canva has a lot of templates to choose from
  • Pinterest is helpful
  • Look for any previous advertising in your Google Drive or Group Page
  • Stop in the Student Activities Office and ask for feedback.

Social Media & Word of Mouth

  • If your club has an established social media page, utilizing it is an easy way to reach students
  • Share on your personal accounts also
  • SaintsLife instagram is always happy to post your event or reshare posts also! Just ask or tag us
  • Tell your friends, tell your floormates, tell your classmates - word of mouth is still very powerful and memorable!

Don't Forget

  • Ask for a second set of eyes, they'll notice stuff you might've missed
  • Proofread  before sending to print
  • Color Printing can be done through the Copy Center
  • Take down posters soon after the event or within 1 month of being put up.

Great concept and eye catching but too simple & too little Info. It's missing a date, what club is hosting, and any details about the event besides it's bingo.

A cool poster but it doesn't really convey the vibe of a finals stress relief event.

Way too much information, too many fonts, difficult to read with the colors and font sizes, and the theme doesn't really fit a winter door decoration event.

Theme is appropriate and accurately represents the club and event. There is empty space and also all the info students need.

Information is organized especially as there's steps required besides just showing up. All the needed info is included and fonts are easy to read.
