Happy Homecoming week!
With this upcoming weekend being the 15th annual homecoming weekend here at CSS we wanted to take a moment to look into the meaning of Homecoming. Homecoming is the tradition of welcoming back alumni and former members of our community and celebrating the existence of St. Scholastica.
The origins of Homecoming in the United states are widely debated but Jeopardy! and Trivial Pursuit give the title to the Univeristy of Missouri's 1911 Football game during which Alumni were encouraged to "Come Home", it appears to be the first homecoming event which included both a Parade and an intercollegiate football game, with the overwhelming success it became an annual event.
