"In God's eyes our words have only the value of our actions."
- St. Ignatius Loyola
"Faithfulness in little things is a big thing."
- St. John Chrysostom
Faith is a personal matter. But it’s not a completely private matter. How we practice what we believe affects our family, friends and community. Each of us has a faith or spirituality - a lens through which we see the world and feel called to act. This spirituality consists of those aspects of ourselves that truely shape how we live - our beliefs, values, identities, religion, communities, etc.
Why does your faith or spirituality matter to anyone else? Consider this, believing that all people are created in the image and likeness of God should impact how we treat others. If we value hospitality, then those who we interact with today would experience that value through our actions. Faith or spirituality matters to others when it is embodied. Let us live in such a way that our faith or spirituality is a beacon of love and hope for those around us.
Putting our faith or spirituality into practice can be challenging at times, and in those moments may you remember the encouragement from St Teresa of Calcutta when she said, "God has not called me to be successful; God has called me to be faithful."

How do you see your spirituality shaping how you live today?
Reflect on this past week, what situations do you recall that you put your faith in action?
What are the beliefs, values, identities, religion, or communities that shape how you see the world? What actions can you identify that you have done (or not done) that are examples of putting your faith into action?
